American High School
American education emphasizes liberal arts education, which is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of students. This educational model not only focuses on the transmission of academic knowledge but also places great importance on cultivating students' critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
In American high school education, students are encouraged to actively participate in classroom discussions, extracurricular activities, and social practices, thereby enhancing their communication skills, teamwork spirit, and leadership. Additionally, project-based learning and interdisciplinary learning are key components, helping students integrate knowledge from different fields and improve their overall competencies.
This well-rounded educational philosophy not only lays a solid foundation for students to enter higher education but also provides strong support for their future careers and personal growth, enabling them to stand out in a rapidly changing world.
The First American High School in Shenzhen
As Shenzhen's first American high school, SIFC was the first to promote the slogan "Pathway to Harvard" as early as 2010, helping numerous alumni fulfill their dreams successfully. Based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) of the United States and adhering to a typical American curriculum framework while considering China's actual national conditions, we offer comprehensive and challenging courses. In addition to core American high school courses such as natural sciences, mathematics and computer science, linguistics, humanities and social sciences, and arts, we also provide over 15 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and innovative programs such as AP Capstone, MIT Digital Fabrication, and Stanford Design Thinking. With our "One Student, One Schedule" approach, students broaden their academic horizons through a rich array of required and elective courses, fully exploring their academic interests. At the same time, they earn college credits in advance, laying a solid foundation for their future applications to top universities worldwide.
