Art & Design Center:Nurturing Art Natives in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
At SIFC, we encourage students to take their first steps toward becoming art natives in the age of artificial intelligence. Through our unique interdisciplinary innovation courses, we integrate knowledge from social sciences, natural sciences, art design, and computer engineering, creating a modern cross-disciplinary education model centered on "Art + Technology".
Art + Technology
Our teaching adopts a project-based learning (PBL) group collaboration format, enabling students to explore and practice through real-world projects. This approach stimulates interdisciplinary thinking and supports students in designing personalized growth paths based on their individual interests and goals. In biology class, we draw inspiration from microscopic biological structures to create fabric illustrations or architectural works; in history class, we design art installations based on the context of modern history... Here, we explore the limitless possibilities of "interdisciplinary" learning.
This comprehensive and multi-perspective learning approach extends far beyond these examples, permeating the entire educational process with countless applications. At SIFC, every student can find their own stage where art and technology are no longer isolated entities but complementary partners that promote each other, working together to create a future filled with infinite possibilities. This is where dreams take flight and where art and technology intertwine in harmony.
Art Corridor
The Art Corridor showcases a diverse array of artworks, ranging from paintings and photography to sculptures and installation art, offering students a gateway into the world of art. Walking through this space allows for an up-close appreciation of various styles and themes, evoking emotional resonance and aesthetic pleasure. This immersive art experience helps cultivate students' artistic appreciation skills and aesthetic values while inspiring their creative ideas.
Art Classrooms
The art classrooms at SIFC are multifaceted spaces that integrate multiple art disciplines, including installation creation, exploration of mixed media, traditional painting techniques, and fashion design. A wide range of materials is provided here, from oil paints and watercolors to modern acrylics, resins, and even recycled items, catering to various artistic styles and creative needs. The classroom combines fine arts, illustration, fashion design, animation design, industrial design, and photography, encouraging interdisciplinary experimentation and fostering innovative thinking.
Multi-functional Creation Space
This space is specifically designed for artistic creation and learning, equipped with professional tools for painting, sculpture, and design, including a variety of art supplies and carving tools, providing students with abundant resources for creativity. It supports AP 2D Design and AP 3D Design courses and offers assistance for G12 art students’ portfolio projects. The fashion studio is a specialized area created for aspiring fashion enthusiasts, featuring industrial sewing machines, pattern-making tables, knitting machines, as well as mannequins for draping, digital fashion design software, fabric laser cutters, display racks, phone tripods, ring lights, irons, and measuring tapes. The studio supports the entire process of fashion design, production, and presentation, meeting students' practical practice and exhibition needs. As the core venue for the school's art and fashion education, the fashion studio provides a comprehensive platform for learning and practice. Students can not only study fundamental theories such as color coordination, fabric selection, and style design but also transform theoretical knowledge into tangible clothing creations through hands-on practice, enhancing their manual dexterity and creative design skills.
Interdisciplinary Exploration and Integration of Technology
The classroom environment encourages interdisciplinary exploration, enabling students to combine art with technology to achieve diverse forms of creative expression. For instance, by incorporating modern technologies such as programming and 3D printing into their practice, students can master the fundamental skills and design concepts of artistic creation. This not only broadens their artistic horizons but also cultivates comprehensive innovation capabilities, laying a solid foundation for their future careers in art.
We provide students with abundant creative resources and a diversified learning environment, while also inspiring innovative thinking and integrated skills through interdisciplinary projects. Whether it’s painting, sculpture, fashion design, or digital media, every student can find a suitable mode of creation here and continuously improve and develop through practice, preparing fully for their future careers in the arts.
