The Biology 1 students are learning about all the evolutionary features of vertebrate animals, from fish to mammals. The visit to the Shenzhen Zoological Garden was very important for their learning process.  

It's of great importance to have a live experience with the animals and to have a closer look to all the characteristics they are studying in the classroom.

Most of us started to learn about ancient vertebrate animals at an early age when we saw dinosaurs in films, picture books or museums. It is fascinating that we can learn the history of vertebrates including human beings, and its curving evolution process. All of these let us exclaim about the power of nature. 

Vertebrates are animals with vertebrae. They have the most complex structure, and the highest evolutionary status. Their structures are very different from each other, and the lifestyle is very different.

Creatures are marvelous.There are several types of fish, such as swordfish, tuna, flying fish and trout. The amphibians include frogs and toads. The reptiles include large geckos, lizards, four-clawed tortoises, Chinese alligators, etc. Birds include white cranes, white-necked long-tailed owls, white spoonbills, goshawks, etc. Moreover, mammals include baboons, wolves, tigers, leopards, bats, hedgehogs, and so on. Many of them are common in our daily lives.

Biology teacher Isaac said that he hopes the students will gain more knowledge and have fun in the Biology class, Maybe we can't choose our own life, but we can make it more interesting. That is also the magic of Biology class.
