The George Washington University (GWU) is a private research university. It was charted in 1821 by an act of the United States Congress. GWU is located in Washington, DC, which is close to US State Department, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund. It is only a few blocks from the White House. GWU has three fully integrated campuses in the D.C. area. These are the Foggy Bottom Campus, the Mount Vernon Campus, and the Virginia Science and Technology Campus.

Throughout its 200-year history, many notable alumni have graduated from GWU. GWU alumni, faculty and affiliates include numerous prominent politicians, U.S. Military officials including four living former Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, CEOs of major corporations, scientists, Nobel laureates, MacArthur fellows, Olympic athletes, Academy Award and Golden Globe winners, royalty, and Time 100 notables.

GWU is regarded as the cradle of politicians. Since its birth, GWU has worked closely with the U.S government. Now GWU is the only university who joined the Fortune Global Forum. Students can always meet famous politicians in the campus and take advantage of the opportunity listening to politicians' speech or join in their talk.

About Jay

Jay is a friendly, honest and kind student. He is intelligent and learns really fast, which helps keep a GPA of 3.9. He is particularly strong in math, for example, he ranked among the top 1.3% in 2017 Waterloo math contest.

In addition to his academic achievement, he seeks different opportunities to develop his overall skills. First of all, he is a passionate basketball player and an indispensable member of our school basketball team. His excellent basketball skills help our team to succeed in matches. Moreover, he's a devoted volunteer. He joined our school volunteer club one year ago and actively attended the activities, for example, he went to take care of the autistic kids whenever he's free during weekend. His experiences foster him to be an independent and responsible adult.

During his application, Jay cooperated closely with his counselors. Eventually, Jay highlighted his talent in math and business competition experience. Congratulations again to Jay for his achievement!
