Earth Day Every Day
Campaign Launched by SIFC Students
April 22 is the World Earth Day. SIFC students launched campaign “Earth Day Every Day”in response to the message of World Earth Day.
The GPGP (GREAT PACIFIC GARBAGE PATCH) in the Pacific Ocean is the largest garbage patch all around the world. The ocean currents go to Pacific. The thing that circulate is the high concentration of trash.
Its size is of two Texas. And there are 1.8 trillion pieces trash floating on the Ocean.
Now we know there are so many garbage floating in the Ocean. Many sea animals are affected by the garbage. There are also documentaries made to reveal this problem. Every April 22 is Earth Day. We are touched by this heart breaking issue and decided to do something in school.
Next, students introduced two activities to all students and staff in SIFC.
The first is Zero Waste Experiment Day. Participants will log all personal activities which could produce waste but change mind for alternative ways to save it.
The second activity is “Earth Day Every Day” Poster Designing Contest. Students use their talents in art to create artistic works to broadcast the information of saving Earth in every moment.
At end, the students call for all of us to take action now to do something to make our planet more beautiful.
