It also places considerable value on the inheritance of Chinese culture, and is committed to fostering students into global citizen who have a solid knowledge base of Chinese culture while are also capable of learning from the strengths of China and the West. When they go abroad, they can become ambassadors of Chinese culture and tell Chinese stories to spread Chinese civilization.

Professor Fu Tengxiao is the founder and dean of Shenzhen International Foundation College as well as the founder and deputy dean of Shenzhen University Teachers College. He used to be a member of Peking University's Doctoral Dissertation Defense Committee, a part-time professor of Sichuan University, the vice president of China Marxist-Leninist Literature Research Association, and the vice president of Guangdong Pearl River Culture Research Association. His main research fields include Chinese ancient culture research, literary aesthetics, Chinese and foreign comparative education research, etc. He has published more than 20 academic books and more than 200 papers at home and abroad. He has won many outstanding social science awards above the province level. He is the pioneer of Shenzhen International Education. In 2015, he was awarded the title of Top Ten Leaders in Shenzhen Education, which enjoys a certain influence in Shenzhen, Guangdong and the whole country. One of Principal Fu’s masterpieces, Fiction Techniques, has been published successively in Beijing China Youth Publishing House and Taiwan Hongye Publishing Company. It has been republished ten times and is collected by many libraries at home and abroad. Moreover, his book "New Theory on Immigration Culture", co-authored with the former president of Shenzhen University, Professor Zhang Bigong, was included in the Shenzhen Library and won the second prize of Shenzhen Social Science Works. Finally, Principal Fu’s new book "Being Fearless through ups and downs--- My 25 Years Engaged in International Education was published in 2020 and was also widely acclaimed.

Shenzhen International Foundation College has a natural gene of Chinese culture. With such a dean, the root of Chinese culture has also been planted in SIFC. From the day the college was opened, it has attached great importance to the value of Chinese culture in international education.

Principal Fu Tengxiao personally acted as the chief editor and compiled a book The Essence of Chinese Sinology with set of seven volumes in millions of words, which is rarely seen in international schools nationwide. Those sets of textbooks span a long historical time, from pre-Qin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty to modern times. They not only include literature, history, philosophy, and classics, but also involve Chinese calligraphy and painting.

When it comes to Chinese studies, we have always been including Chinese learning education into the teaching plan. According to the learning features among students of different grades, the Chinese group interspersed ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese into Chinese learning, so that students can feel the beauty of Chinese culture.

In teaching practice, our specific operations are as follows:

1. Incorporate classic articles from The Essence of Chinese Studies into the teaching system.

2. Choose classic Chinese studies as the content that students must recite to enrich students' literary literacy.

3. Conduct the Chinese culture hard pen calligraphy practice display activity, allowing students to express what they have learned with good-looking word characters, so as to achieve the unity of knowledge and action.

4. In the annual "Chinese Culture Festival" theme activities, Chinese culture elements are also prominently reflected. The active participation of teachers and students has made learning Chinese culture a fashion on campus.
