Ten U.S. Colleges visit SIFC

Several U.S. Colleges paid a visit to SIFC on October 18th, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, High Point University, University of Redlands, Samford University, Seattle University, Kent State University and Utah State University.


All students from Grade 10 to 12 attended this event. Want to know what happened? Let’s take a look!


First of all, admission officers gave a brief introduction about their colleges.



University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The University of Nebraska – Lincoln was founded in 1869 and is the oldest and largest university in the state of Nebraska. U.S. News and World Report ranks Nebraska as one of the top public universities in the United States. Also, Lincoln is a vibrant college town with something for everyone. Lincoln is home to more than 300,000 people and was ranked the 5th safest American City by Forbes.



High Point University 



High Point University, founded in 1924, is located in High Point, North Carolina, U.S. The university covers an area of 320 acres. It is a private liberal arts university, which offers 47 undergraduate majors, 51 undergraduate minors and 12 graduate-degree majors.


Students at High Point University receive good job opportunities: 86% of graduate students find work within six months. The internship and employment institutions include: NASA, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Fox news channel, JPMorgan Chase, Ernst & Young, Royal Caribbean cruise lines, Lyon Bean, Ralph Lauren, General Electric and Courtyard hotel.




University of Redlands 



The University of Redlands is a private, nonprofit university located in Redlands, California, United States, offering both liberal arts and professional programs. Founded in 1907 as a Baptist institution, the school is now independent and ended compulsory religious services in 1972, although it maintains an informal relationship with the group American Baptist Churches USA and students there continue to engage in community service.




Kent State University 



Kent State University (KSU) is a large, primarily residential, public research university in Kent, Ohio, United States. The university also includes seven regional campuses in Northeast Ohio and additional facilities in the region and internationally. As of September 2017, Kent State is one of the largest universities in Ohio with an enrollment of 39,367 students in the eight-campus system and 28,972 students at the main campus in Kent. U.S. News & World Report's 2017 rankings put Kent State as tied for #188 for National Universities and tied for #101 in Top Public Schools.




 Samford University



Samford University is Alabama's top-ranked private university. The university enrolls 5,471 students from 47 states and 29 countries. Samford University has been nationally ranked for academic programs, value and affordability by Kiplinger's Personal Finance and The Princeton Review. With a strong foundation in Christian faith, the Samford community supports and encourages each other throughout their time on campus and beyond. These values transcend into personal and professional lives of students so they are prepared with a servant’s heart and mind when they graduate.




Seattle University



Seattle University is a Jesuit Catholic university in the northwestern United States, located in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. SU is the largest independent university in the Northwest US, with over 7,500 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs within eight schools, and is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.




 Utah State University



Utah State University is a public doctorate-granting university in Logan, Utah, United States. The coeducational, space-grant, land-grant, research university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. With nearly 18,000 students living on or near campus, USU is Utah's largest public residential campus. As of Fall 2017, there were 27,679 students enrolled including 24,618 undergraduate students and 3,061 graduate students. The university has the highest percentage of out-of-state students of any public university in Utah totaling 23% of the student body.




Here comes the most exciting part of the event. Each admission officer got a spot and our students could go and have a talk with admission officers.












Students had a great time there and the event came to a successful end.



The following day on October 19th, we had another admission event led by Baylor University, University of La Verne and Marist College.


First of all, three admission officers gave a brief introduction about the schools.



University of La Verne 



The University of La Verne is a private university in La Verne, California. Founded in 1891, the university is composed of the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business & Public Management, the LaFetra College of Education, College of Law, and a Regional Campus Administration that oversees seven regional campuses. It awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Many of their classes are taught at smaller campuses throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Students will receive scholarships if qualified.




Marist College 



Marist College is a private, coeducational liberal arts college, located in the U.S. state of New York, within the Hudson River Valley in the town of Poughkeepsie. Marist's 180-acre main campus overlooks the Hudson River, and is situated along its east banks. Marist has a branch campus in Florence, Italy and maintains study sites in 26 countries. Marist College offers over 44 Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, 12 Masters degrees, and 21 Certificate programs.




Baylor University 



Baylor University is a private Christian university in Waco, Texas. Chartered in 1845 by the last Congress of the Republic of Texas, it is the oldest continuously operating university in Texas and one of the first educational institutions west of the Mississippi River in the United States. More than 16,000 students study at Baylor University, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia and approximately 89 foreign countries. The university clubs and organizations provide each student with an opportunity to become engaged with an organization that shares his or her interests. Baylor University has a total undergraduate enrollment of 13,859 with a gender distribution of 42 percent male students and 58 percent female students.



After brief introduction, we had our favorite Q&A sections. Students asked about dormitory and study abroad program where admission answered these questions respectively.
