Among the numerous art, sports and comprehensive academic clubs at Shenzhen International Foundation College, the art clubs have been shining brightly in the music section. Every year, SIFC students are invited to perform A Cappella in the Shenzhen concert hall. Meanwhile, our students are also recommended to participate in various domestic and international competitions.

From participating in the January's primary selection until March to Thailand to participate in the finals, the entire schedule was a step by step process, and greatly encouraged the participants to demonstrate their artistic ability and campus culture as many ways as possible. Participants were required to record a video of their performance to show their skills and upload it to the platform, and then KPIS selected the performers to compete. On the day of the final, all participants, in addition to the dance group, wore the uniforms of the school to perform, showing the features of their schools.

It is worth mentioning that the professional level of the contestants were extremely high. On the day of the competition, all of them had their own strengths. Regardless of the age, each participant was full of confidence, enjoying the stage and every minute of interaction with the audience. The performance was original and self-contained. Some were adapted from Broadway, classical and other high-level works.

▲ The audience

There was an impressive incident during the competition. Eason, one of our students, was singing when the lighting and the background screen suddenly went out. In this unprepared situation, all the audience and participants took out their phones and shined them on Eason nearly at the same time, it was like a live concert with great atmosphere, and Eason completed the show without any disruption. It can be seen that the respect for the participants on the stage and the performers is above everything else.

Participating in this competition allowed SIFC students to have a good exchange with international students from all over Asia. In addition, students felt the unprecedented school atmosphere and performance experience, which is far more valuable than the awards. We are confident in front of strong opponents and we will challenge again in the coming year!
